This easy-to-make recipe takes just 30 minutes, making it perfect for a indulgent weeknight dinner.

Ingredients

Scale

Gnocchi

  • 1 pound Potato Gnocchi (fresh for better texture)

Sauce

  • 2 tablespoons Butter (adds richness to the sauce)
  • 1 tablespoon Olive Oil (for frying)
  • 3 cloves Garlic (minced)
  • 1 cup Heavy Cream (can substitute with half-and-half for lighter)
  • 1/2 cup Parmesan Cheese (grated; can use vegan Parmesan)
  • 1 teaspoon Rosemary (chopped)
  • 1 teaspoon Parsley (chopped)
  • Salt and Pepper (to taste)
  • Red Pepper Flakes (optional for heat)

Instructions

  1. Cook Gnocchi: Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the potato gnocchi and cook until they float to the surface, about 2 to 4 minutes. Once they are tender, drain them carefully and set aside.
  2. Pan-Sear Gnocchi: In a large skillet, melt the butter and warm the olive oil over medium heat. Add the cooked gnocchi to the pan and sear them until golden brown and slightly crispy, about 3 to 5 minutes. Remove the gnocchi from the skillet and keep aside.
  3. Sauté Garlic: Using the same skillet, add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant. Take care not to burn the garlic to maintain its sweet flavor.
  4. Simmer Cream: Pour in the heavy cream and allow it to gently simmer for 3 to 4 minutes, stirring occasionally to thicken the sauce slightly.
  5. Add Cheese and Herbs: Stir in the grated Parmesan cheese, chopped rosemary, chopped parsley, salt, and pepper. Mix well to combine all the flavors into a smooth, creamy sauce.
  6. Toss Gnocchi in Sauce: Return the crispy gnocchi to the skillet and gently toss them with the creamy sauce until each piece is thoroughly coated.
  7. Serve: Plate the Millionaire Gnocchi immediately while hot. Garnish with extra Parmesan cheese, fresh herbs, and sprinkle red pepper flakes if you desire a spicy kick.

Notes

  • For a lighter version, substitute heavy cream with half-and-half or a plant-based cream alternative.
  • Fresh gnocchi is preferred for the best texture, but frozen gnocchi works as well.
  • Be careful when sautéing garlic to avoid burning, which can make it bitter.
  • You can customize the herbs to your liking, such as substituting parsley with basil.
  • Serve immediately to enjoy the contrast between crispy gnocchi and creamy sauce.
  • This dish pairs well with a simple green salad or steamed vegetables for a complete meal.
