Ingredients

Scale

Liquids

  • 4 oz vodka (vanilla vodka optional; ensure gluten free if needed)
  • 2 oz Kahlua (or coffee liqueur)
  • 3 oz fresh brewed espresso (cooled) or strong cold brew coffee
  • 2 oz half & half (or dairy-free alternatives like Nutpods or Califia Farms Peppermint Mocha creamer)

Flavoring & Garnishes

  • 1/4 tsp peppermint extract
  • Chocolate syrup (for glass rim)
  • Crushed candy canes (for glass rim coating)
  • 6 espresso beans (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the glass rims: Dip the rims of 2 martini glasses in chocolate syrup to create a sticky coating, then immediately press them into crushed candy canes to coat the rims evenly. Set aside.
  2. Mix the cocktail: Fill a cocktail shaker halfway with ice cubes. Add the vodka, Kahlua, cooled espresso or cold brew coffee, half & half (or creamer), and peppermint extract. Secure the lid tightly.
  3. Shake well: Shake the mixture vigorously for about 60 seconds to chill the drink thoroughly and blend the flavors.
  4. Serve and garnish: Strain the cocktail evenly into the prepared martini glasses. Garnish each glass with 3 espresso beans on top. Enjoy your festive Peppermint Espresso Martinis responsibly!

Notes

  • Use vanilla vodka for added depth of flavor if desired.
  • For a dairy-free version, substitute half & half with non-dairy creamers such as Nutpods or Califia Farms Peppermint Mocha.
  • Ensure espresso or cold brew coffee is fully cooled before shaking to prevent dilution from melting ice.
  • Crushed candy canes on the rim add a sweet crunch and enhance the peppermint flavor.
  • This recipe yields two cocktails; double the ingredients for larger servings.
