Ingredients

Scale

Pasta

  • 1 lb linguine pasta (or fettuccine, spaghetti, etc.)

Sauce

  • 1/21 1/2 Tbsp red pepper flakes (adjust depending on desired spiciness)
  • 2 Tbsp vegetable oil
  • 1/31/2 cup toasted sesame oil
  • 1 1/2 tsp chili paste
  • 6 Tbsp soy sauce
  • 6 Tbsp honey

Garnishes

  • Scallions, chopped
  • Carrots, shredded or julienned
  • Peanuts, chopped
  • Cilantro, chopped
  • Sriracha sauce
  • Sesame seeds

Instructions

  1. Prepare Garnishes: Chop the scallions, carrots, peanuts, and cilantro finely, then set them aside for garnish.
  2. Cook Pasta: Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the linguine pasta and cook until al dente according to package instructions, usually about 8-10 minutes. Once cooked, drain well and set aside.
  3. Heat Oils and Red Pepper Flakes: While the pasta is boiling, heat the vegetable oil and toasted sesame oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the red pepper flakes and gently heat them in the oil to infuse the flavors, being careful not to burn them.
  4. Prepare Sauce: When the oil is hot and fragrant, strain out the red pepper flakes carefully, reserving the infused oil in a bowl. Return the reserved oil to the skillet and add the chili paste. Whisk in the soy sauce and honey until the sauce is smooth and well combined.
  5. Toss Pasta with Sauce: Add the cooked pasta to the skillet with the sauce and toss well to coat all strands evenly, allowing the pasta to absorb the flavors.
  6. Serve: Serve the noodles hot, at room temperature, or cold, topped generously with the prepared garnishes such as scallions, carrots, peanuts, cilantro, Sriracha, and sesame seeds. Enjoy your spicy Thai noodles!
